The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society |
 |
First published in the US in 2007 and the UK in 2008 The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society was written by US writer Mary Ann Shaffer and her niece Annie Barrows.

When goaded by her own book club to write a novel, Mary Ann, decided to base this novel in Guernsey at the time of the German occupation during World War 2. The novel went on to be one of the greatest publishing successes in recent memory with sales to date of 3 million worldwide.

My thanks to regular guest Mr Peter Kenny who presented me with a copy of his latest’s book
"Defenders of Guernsey".

A fantastic book aimed at Children of 9 years + which shows how young yours truly is as.

I thoroughly enjoyed it, and not just because "La Barbarie Hotel" features on page 2!
Set in our beautiful Island a story of kidnap ghostly goats and more. |
