Having just had our annual Visit Guernsey inspection we are delighted to announce that in this Olympic Year La Barbarie Hotel has been awarded Gold Standard rising from 3 Star Silver to 3 Star Gold.
This makes it a hat-trick with our existing Gold awards for Bar Meals and Restaurant Food.
(Chef said to tell you)
We'll be cheering on Team GB this Summer and in particular Guernseyman Lee Merrien competing in his first Olympics in the marathon.

Citius Altius Fortius Refurbishus |
Our rolling programme of guest bedroom refurbishment continues apace and we were delighted to have four new Superior rooms ready bang on schedule as we opened in March. The Inspector commented that these new rooms were worthy of a 5 Star grading.
As you can see they are delightful rooms and further enhance our reputation for Quality and Value for Money, with Five Star hotel accommodation at 3 Star prices!
In Addition to the Superior rooms we also managed to refurbish yet more of our Standard rooms. |

Future Plans

We are now awaiting planning permission to redevelop the pool area. As you will see from the attached PDF, (click to enlarge), we will have changing rooms and toilets in a larger beautifully landscaped area incorporating a sloped walkway rather than the steps that currently exist to access the Superior Rooms and Apartments.
Significant investment will also be (pardon the pun) pumped into our plumbing system this coming Winter, helping to ensure a better result for our guests. |

Guess The Baby . . . . Round 2!

Yes, Ilze is again with child and will be introducing us to? in mid July.
So a brother or sister for Kristian? - that is the question.
Mr & Mrs Cant were our winners two years ago in Round 1 so here are the ever so complicated rules again for first-time competitors. A bottle of Champagne and a free upgrade to a Superior Room (subject to availability) on your next visit to the person to guess the correct gender and closest weight.
